I am a British journalist specialising in narrative non-fiction and investigative journalism.
A former Reuters correspondent, I am particularly interested in stories about the gap between official narratives and reality. I follow the money and power behind institutions that market themselves as humane, healing, or progressive, from ayahuasca retreats and purportedly sustainable megaprojects, to border policy.
My latest long read about the downfall of Mexico’s best known anti-crime activist was published in late July 2026. Read it here.

Ghostwriting.
I am an experienced ghostwriter, fact-checker and editorial collaborator working with writers and non-writers alike.
I bring the same skills to this work that I bring to my journalism: exhaustive, carefully crafted interviews to capture a client's voice and story, and the instincts to shape raw material into a rich and compelling narrative.
I work with clients throughout the entire project lifecycle, from sharpening concepts and finding the optimal structure to writing proposals for literary agents and publishers — or writing or editing full manuscripts. Whether you’re self-publishing or pursuing a traditional deal, I can guide you through the process and help you determine the best path for your needs.
If you have a story worth telling, I'd love to help you tell it.iting Sol
About.
I got my start in journalism at The Santiago Times covering Chilean news and politics, eventually becoming editor in chief. I then worked as a beat reporter for first Reuters and then Bloomberg Industry for almost a decade, covering multiple elections in Europe, the Catalan secession crisis and business news across Latin America.
Since going freelance, I’ve written longform features for The Guardian Long Read, The Nation, Rest of World and Rolling Stone. My work has also appeared in Politico, Foreign Affairs and Vice News.
I have also worked on documentaries, reporting and developing projects for JWP, Telemundo and NBC.
I’ve worked from the UK, Chile, Mexico and Spain, and speak Spanish, French and Catalan.
